This building is declared as an historic monument and I was quite dismayed to see that they jack-hammered the graceful arched entrance away to put up a stupid square box. I thought the status offered some protection and I wondered how this could happen. I suspect that someone knows the mayor and with a little of the old baksheesh, the wheels of “progress” were duly oiled.
